Julie Reviews Destroyed and Destined by Kira Johns

Jade Moore was no stranger to the MC lifestyle. Growing up the daughter of the President of the Satan's Rebels, she knew all about family and loyalty. Her world slowly crumbles when she loses not only her parents, but her brother and best friend. Her Uncle steps in and becomes the family she so desperately needs.

But what happens when the only family you have left betrays everything you have ever known?

Jade is drug into the Condemned Warrior world where she is imprisoned for four agonizing years. Beaten and brutalized, she wishes for death, but it never comes.

Reaper inherited the MC from his brother, Halo, and will do whatever it takes to keep the club safe. Anything, including handing over his niece to the club's enemy. All he has to do is convince her brother, Tank, and best friend, Shadow, that she has run away. Easy. But what Reaper never expects is for Tank and Shadow to come home looking for answers years later and discovering the truth.

Tank and Shadow return to their hometown to investigate missing funds. It's when they begin digging for the evidence, they discover a much darker secret that Reaper has been hiding. Enlisting the help of the club's Sergeant at Arms, Viper, they set out to rescue Jade and bring her home where she belongs.

Viper's reputation is well known both inside and out of the MC. He is a cold-blooded killer, incapable of any feeling but hatred. His allegiance lies with Tank and the club. He will do whatever it takes to bring Jade home, even if it means crossing enemy lines to save her. What he doesn't expect is to fall for her.

This book is intended for Adults 18 and over due to graphic scenes involving sex, language, and violence. This novella is book one in the Satan's Rebels MC series.

Review

This is one of those books that will really sneak up on you when you least expect it. Jade is one of the strongest heroines I have read about in a book.

Jade had been raised by her dad's MC, Satan's Rebels, and when tragedy strikes, she is left with her brother, Tank and best friend, Shadow, who end up leaving town. She is left alone with her uncle, Reaper, who is now president of the club.

What happens next really left me speechless knowing a member of your family could be so cruel!! Due to his 'loyalty to the club’, he sacrifices Jade and she ends up with the Condemned Warriors, a rival MC. Jade is struggling to survive after being brutalized in every possible way for four years by that club. Reaper was one of those characters that I would have loved to kill myself!

Just as she is about to give up, circumstances change as Tank and Shadow return to town to find out what happened to Jade. Along comes Viper into the mix. Viper is one tough badass biker and once he sees Jade, nothing will stop him at setting her free.

The characters in this book are some of the strongest ones I have seen. This book pulled me in from the start and I couldn't put it down until I devoured it. It left me speechless as to how any one person could end up so completely 'destroyed' and be able to come back from it. I loved how so many characters were brought into this book and seem to blend in to make the perfect MC.

All I can say is that I'm glad book two, Destined, just came out because I was definitely ready for more!!!

After surviving hell not once, but twice, Jade Moore is once again living, but her nights are filled with torture as she relives her time with the Condemned Warriors again and again. The only person capable of chasing away those demons is Viper, the man she has fallen deeply in love with. He is not just her hero, he is her destiny.

Viper’s troubled past makes him the cold, heartless killer that everyone fears. Then he met Jade, falling helplessly in love with her. As he helps Jade overcome her demons, he reveals his own, not knowing if he will lose her forever. But it isn't his past he should be worried about, it’s his future.

Shadow returns to Rockingham to be with the girl he has loved since they were kids, only to find she is in love with another man. He is determined to win the heart of the only girl he has ever loved, no matter the consequences. When secrets are revealed and tragedy strikes, will he put aside his desires and be the friend Jade needs?

Lives will be lost and heartache will be inevitable.

Review

Destined is one of those sequels that is as good as the first and even better!

We pick up where book one ended as Viper saved Jade. This book brings Viper and Jade closer as they each have similar pasts. Viper is just the person to help her heal and learn to move on. He pushes all her buttons and makes her confront what happened to her and for that, she becomes such a strong woman.

As this book goes on, Tank and Shadow return. Jade and Shadow have always loved each other and you can really tell how hurt he is to find her with Viper. Also, you can feel her pull to him. She loves Viper but loves Shadow too. Tank is so protective over Jade and you can feel the love he has for her and how he wants to protect her.

As Jade is put in danger yet again by the rival MC, Viper knows he will stop at nothing to save his woman. Viper is one of those characters that left me completely breathless. I fell in love with his character and as the book deepens, it really ripped me apart with a completely different turn than I was expecting!!

Jade soon finds out she needs Shadow more than she thought and I really respect Shadow for stepping aside and let her be happy with Viper. He really amazed me at how he was always there for her when she needed him the most. Things really change in this book that left me speechless and so heartbroken By the end, I was completely devastated and needed a ton of tissues!!

All of the characters are strong and this book was well developed. After reading book one, I immediately started this one and couldn't put it down until I had read it all. I certainly was not expecting that ending and I really need book 3 NOW!!
