Julie Reviews RENEGADE REJECT by Emily Minton and Dawn Martens

Renegade Reject
Daisy “Little Flower” Anderson has lived her entire life on the sidelines of the Renegade Sons MC. Her father is a member, and her mother a club whore turned old lady. Not wanting to follow their footsteps, she chose a different path; one that keeps her close to the biker family she loves, but out of the club. Struggling to keep it together, she never thought she would have anything of her own, until she met Preach. He is everything she swore she didn't want in life. One night of passion leads to unexpected consequences, and she knows, now more than ever, it’s time to move forward. Garrett “Preach” Austin lived his life caught in his father’s iron fist. He never thought he would want anything more than freedom from his past, until he met his “Little Flower”. She shows him there is more to life than pain. Preach has a secret; one that forces him to choose between Daisy and his brothers. Even though he loves Daisy, the Renegade Sons are the only true family he has. He knows he can’t have her, yet he can’t let her go. When Daisy moves on, Preach realizes what he’s lost. Can he prove that he’s the man for her, or is he too late?

As much as I love a good MC book and enjoyed Renegade Lady, I knew I had to jump on the chance to get this one. And I had a range of emotions while reading it!! Preach is oh so hot and will really leave you breathless but at the same time, I would have loved to beat him to death for the way he hurt Daisy. It wasn’t bad enough that he hurt her once, it was over and over. But, as much as I did lose respect for him throughout the book, he did redeem himself for me by the end.

Daisy’s father was Maker, a member of the Renegade Sons MC, and she was trying to make ends meet. Her dad was nothing but a drunk and her mom, Lula, was a downright bitch throughout the entire book. She truly hated her daughter and would stop at nothing to get rid of her. Lula had been through practically every man in the club and I really wanted her knocked off as soon as I met her.

Preach had left his home due to an abusive father, who tried to rule him with the bible and the belt. The best thing Preach ever did was to get away from him but it came with a hefty price: prison and leaving his sister. Along the way, he meets Kidd, Prez of the MC, and finally Preach has a home.

As we all met Mary, Wayne, and Holt in Renegade Lady, we know that they have quite a strange relationship but it works for them and they are so protective over Daisy since Maker and Lula have pretty much tossed her to the side. As much as they tried to protect Daisy and keep her safe, they knew from the moment Preach laid eyes on her, he was a goner. She was his ‘little flower’ from day one!! The only problem was, she wasn’t eighteen so of course that meant off limits to him.

“I fuckin’ love you. I’ve loved you since I first saw you. I’ll love you until I take my last breath.” - Preach

While they are getting to know each other, you can really tell they are meant to be and I started falling hard for Preach myself. But, just like a typical biker, they always screw up and think with the wrong head, lol.

After being destroyed by him, Daisy leaves town with Maker to help him heal from injuries he suffered in a wreck. Well, they say time heals all wounds but not for Daisy. The moment she’s back and sees Preach, all of her feelings are right back. Preach has changed in the time she’s been gone. He’s become such a drunk and what a manwhore he is!!

This is where I’m torn about this book. I wanted him to follow her to the ends of the earth to prove his love, but with a biker, I know that’s never going to happen. Like I said before, he was thinking with the wrong head!!

With Daisy back and needing a job, she goes to the local strip club and Preach knows he has to put a stop to that. No one is seeing ‘his woman’ naked. Here’s the kicker, he thinks he can do what he wants, but she can’t do the same? Can we say “hell no!”

“I love you, Little Flower. You are mine. I’m claiming you, no matter what you say.”

My heart really broke for Daisy because just when she thought she had him, she realized she didn’t. He was there, then he wasn’t. It was like he had a revolving door on her heart. I love the relationship she developed with Ice (aka Jenna) because she really needed a friend during all of this. I love Timber and Reese and how well they blended into the mix and tried to knock some sense into Preach, and I really love Kidd for the fact that he did beat the shit out of him!!

Renegade Reject has quite a mix of characters and digs deep into club life but that’s what made me love it even more. I love the wildness of the characters, their gentle sides amazed me, and the humorous situations they got themselves into made me fall even harder. I give this book 4.5 stars and call me a Renegade bitch because I want more from this series!!
