Review: CRASH INTO YOU by Katie McGarry

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane.

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

Review

Crash into You is the third installment of Katie McGarry's Pushing the Limits Series. This is the story of Isaiah Walker from the first two books. This book can be read as a standalone even though the characters from the previous books are mentioned.

Isaiah Walker grew up in the foster care system. He has learned to survive with his street smarts and a few close friends. Yet he longs to be truly wanted by a family. In contrast, Rachel Young has always been wanted by her picture perfect family - but only as a replacement for her deceased older sister. Both Isaiah and Rachel have survived survived by pretending to be something they aren't: Isaiah a tough street kid and Rachel the perfect Princess. They really just long to be loved for being themselves. Isaiah and Rachel meet when they join a street race to fulfill their need for speed. After a deal gone bad they are tied together to rectify a debt. In the process will they find each other and the unconditional love they have both sought after their entire lives?

Katie McGarry writes an awesome story! I always know that I can count on her to deliver a meaningful book with a range of characters with depth. Crash Into You was a phenomenal book. I loved that the story was new and exciting. Even though the premise of this book was a "boy from the wrong side of the tracks love story" It was not at all predictable and it really had me on the edge of my seat. The street racing was exhilarating and I loved reading about a girl who knows her way around the hood of a car. Rachel was really endearing. She was such a sweet girl who loved her family so much that she sacrificed her happiness her entire life to please them. My heart just ached for Isaiah and his poor self-esteem. Even though he proved himself time and again he had a hard time believing that he deserved to be happy and loved. Together they fit perfectly. Each one broken, yet hand in hand they became whole. The attraction between Rachel and Isaiah had my heart racing....their chemistry just sizzled right off the page, yet the novel was a clean read for young adults.

If you are looking for a meaningful, well developed, fun, fast-paced romance I highly recommend that you pick up Katie McGarry's Crash Into You! 4.5 Awesome stars!
