Review: TRUST IN ME by J.Lynn

It's Wait for You as you've never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam's side of the #1 New York Times bestselling story.

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life—literally—he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam's not ready to give up. He can't get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Review:

This is a companion novel to Wait for You by J. Lynn told by Cam's POV (point of view).  You must read Wait for You before reading Trust in Me.

It is always nice to revisit favorite books... it's like visiting old friends you haven't seen in a while.   With alternate POVs it is a fine line to get the right combination of old and new.   You don't want to feel as though you are purely rereading the first book, yet you want to revisit some old favorite scenes and get new ones.  Trust in Me is also a novella (albeit a long one) so it needs to flow well and leave you fulfilled all while cutting a lot of the first book.  Reading Cam's POV was a breath of fresh air.  I was glad that it had been a while since I had read Wait for You so I didn't feel as though I was rereading the second book at all.  There were nice summaries covering scenes that weren't included from his POV so the novella flowed nice and didn't feel as though things were missed. J. Lynn got it just right.

Cam was sweet and funny as ever.  It was easy to fall in love with him all over again.  There were some scenes included that weren't covered in Wait for You.  Scenes with his parents, sister Teresa, friends Jase, and Ollie.  These additional scenes also setup the next book Be with Me (Jase and Teresa's story).  It was great to a get a peak inside Cam's head and see how he always referred to Avery as shortcake.
Pick up this sweet and funny novella for a great blast from the past while anticipating Be with Me!  4 shooting stars!

"Deep auburn hair flew forward, snapping me in the face.  The scent of berries and something musky and good filled me.  Holy shit, Strawberry Shortcake just ran me over." - Cam "Trust in Me"
